Parallel parking has a bad reputation, but it’s actually not that bad. When learning, start on a quiet residential street or even a parking lot. Start by using one vehicle, rather than trying to go in between two.
When you feel confident after lots of practice, then attempt to go between two vehicles. When that is too easy, then parallel park on the left side of the road (on a one-way street) for something different. After that, parallel park on a busier street.
